# About & updates — Version, releases, and licenses

> View the current stagewise version, check production updates, use the self-updating nightly build from GitHub, and browse open-source licenses.

Open **Settings → About**.

## Version information

Displays the current stagewise version and build details.

## Updates and nightly builds

stagewise ships through a regular production release. Production builds update through the built-in updater.

A self-updating nightly build is also available from [GitHub](https://github.com/stagewise-io/stagewise/releases). Use nightly builds when you want the latest fixes and features before the next production release.

Nightly builds can change more often than production builds. Use the production release for day-to-day work unless you need a recent fix.

## Open-source licenses

stagewise is built on open-source software. The **Licenses** dialog lists all third-party dependencies with:

* Package name and version
* License type (MIT, Apache-2.0, etc.)
* Publisher
* Full license text

Search for specific packages using the search bar.

stagewise itself is licensed under [AGPL-3.0](https://www.gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0.html).
